WHEAT – Up 12 to 15 cents per bushel.
Support from excessive wet weather in Australia’s wheat harvest and dry weather in portions of the U.S. winter wheat region and in China’s wheat belt. Weak dollar also supportive.
* Australia sees record wheat crop, but quality down.
* Paris wheat at new high on Australia rain worries.
* Another round of heavy rainfall is expected through southeast and east Australia wheat areas early this week which is highly unfavorable for the mature wheat crop.
* Dryness continues to be a concern for hard red winter wheat grown in the western U.S. Plains. There is no significant chance for rain in the dry area during the 10 day forecast.
CORN – Up 7 to 8 cents per bushel.
Spillover support from soaring wheat, a weak dollar and higher crude oil.
* Hot and dry weather in Argentina on Monday increased stress on crops but a cold front is expected to cool temperatures off within the next 24-48 hours. Overall satisfactory crop weather continues in Brazil.
