Redbook’s sales rate for the May 7 down from 5.5% to 4.7% but isn’t down by much compared to the very long prior trend of between two and four percent. Redbook says most retailer met or exceeded plan in the latest week, helped by warm weather, Mother’s Day, and graduation shopping.
